Il musicista attualmente nella band di Regina Spektor , è morto mentre nuotava con un amico a Chillon Castle a Montreux. Proprio per il giorno seguente era schedulata la performance della Spektor nella città svizzera. Diplomato a Berklee, da tempo viveva a Brooklyn, e vantava già collaborazioni con una pletora di artisti tra cui: Coldplay, Tracy Bonham, Chick Corea, Katy Perry, Rachel Yamagata, Mandy Moore e My Brightest Diamond. Cho era anche corrispondente per il sito “ESPNSoccerNet” per il quale aveva seguito la Corea del Sud ai mondiali. Questo l’annuncio dato dal fratello sul proprio profilo facebook: “this is joey, daniel’s brother and i will delete this page if i see one more negative thing posted by someone. i’ve said before i did NOT make this page, and i saw a another Rest in peace daniel page, don’t do that. why do people have to try and disgrace his memories. just leave something you know about him and leave. don’t make me come delete this” .
