Tre anni dopo ‘Why I Hate Women’ viene annunciato il 14esimo album dei leggendari Pere Ubu . Prodotto dallo stesso David Thomas, ‘Long Live Père Ubu!’ esce il 14 settembre via Cooking Vinyl, come Pere Ubu with Sarah Jane Morris . Una collaborazione quella con la cantante inglese (che tanti anni fa calca anche il palco di Sanremo assieme a Riccardo Cocciante, ma che viene ricordata per aver collaborato con i Communards piuttosto che con Peter Hammill ) nata dopo che una serie di brani ispirati all’Ubu Roi di Alfred Jarry, vengono trasformati in una vera e propria opera teatrale. La rappresentazione dei quali va in scena per due date (aprile 2008) alla Queen Elizabeth Hall di Londra come “Bring Me The Head Of Ubu Roi”. “Thomas determined that the band itself should not only play the music but also take on all cast roles, all production duties and design/perform all the choreography”.
