CODEINE
Jan 14th, 2012 | By NerdsAttack.net | Category: NewsA 17 anni dall’ultima apparizione live il prossimo maggio all’All Tomorrow Parties londinese rivamperanno in line-up originale i magnifici eroi dello slowcore Codeine . “These are Codeine’s first public performances since 1994. We will be performing a very limited series of concerts in the U.S., UK and Europe” . Le reissue toccano: “double-LP versions of 1990’s Frigid Stars, 1992’s Barely Real and Codeine’s 1994 swan song The White Birch on May 8. On top of the regular tracklistings. All three albums will be subjected to Numero’s notoriously elaborate packaging and detailed liner notes, and will be accompanied by period appropriate singles, demos, Peel Sessions, and live tracks”.
Chris Brokaw scrive: “Yes, it can now be told: Chicago label NUMERO GROUP will reissue all the old CODEINE records, as DOUBLE albums: choc-a-bloc with b-sides, 4 track stuff, unreleased tunes, etc. There will also be a limited box set with all 6 lp’s. To celebrate these releases, the original line up of the band (me plus Steve Immerwahr and John Engle) will play a very limited run of shows. The first has been announced for May 26, 2012, in conjunction with All Tomorrows Parties. Lots more details coming soon. xx cb”.
Il magnifico trio lo troviamo poi tra i primi nomi confermati del prossimo Primavera Sound… in attesa di altri appuntamenti che possano riguardare, chissà, anche l’Italia.
